CISF Constable (General Duty)


Before you are interviewed for CISF Constable (General Duty) position that you are applying for, there are specific qualifications that you have to meet and you also need to undergo an examination. After you pass the qualifications and the exam, you will be given the opportunity to go for the interview. But take note that not all applicants who pass the exams and the interview are hired because further deliberation is needed to be done by the employers or the proper authorities before hiring a new personnel.

The following basic qualifications are needed in order for an applicant to be allowed to take the examination for the CISF Constable (General Duty).

Nationality: All candidates should be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit: The applicants aspiring for the stated position should not be younger than 18 years old at the same time not older than 23 years old during the date of application and selection. But, there are circumstances wherein the governing body allows SC/ST/OBC applicants who are above 23 years old to apply.

Minimum Educational Qualification: All applicants for the CISF Constable (General Duty) should have undergone matriculation or any other educational attainment equivalent to matriculation.

Physical Qualifications: Applicants should pass the minimum height requirements which is 170 cm and the minimum chest circumference which is 80cm. But there are again circumstances when relaxation is applied and in this case it is applied to the people who live in the hills of India including the Dogras, Marathas, Garhwalis, and Gorillas; the minimum height requirement set for then is 165 cm and the minimum chest requirement is 78 cm. But all candidates are required to elicit a 6/6 and 6/9 vision on each eye; unlike in other examinations, applicants who are nearsighted are allowed to apply as long as the ability is 0.6 and 0.8 in each eye respectively. Other physical conditions not accepted include flat feet, knock knee, as well as squint eye.
