UPSC Examination
Passing any of the UPSC examinations is significant in getting a safe civil job in India. These can be taken after 10 + 2 and some are taking any of these after graduation. Although these examinations may not the only criteria for landing a job, still getting eligibility of any of these examinations could give an edge over other job seekers.
There are about nine choices of UPSC competitive examinations that a person could take to land a job in India. One of which is the Civil Services Examination. A candidate needs to complete a 3-phase process, the preliminary, the main test and the personality test which is conducted through an interview.
Indian Economic/Statistical Service Examination is another one which is applicable for candidates for Grade IV officers. A candidate needs to be a graduate in Economics and Statistics and must be twenty one to thirty years of age.
Indian Forest Service Examination is another type of UPSC competitive exams. This is for candidates who wanted for a position in the Indian forestry service. The minimum requirement for this is any Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects in geology, animal husbandry and veterinary science, chemistry, botany, zoology, mathematics, statistics, and physics or a degree in Forestry or Agriculture or Agricultural Engineering.
For those who go into engineering services like in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Combine Engineering Services Examination should be taken. Special posts in Indian railway system, central engineering services, Survey of India, Indian Ordinance Factories, Military Engineering Services, Indian Telecommunication Service, Central Power Engineering Service and Central Water Engineering Services are waiting for those who passed this examination.
Geologists Examination is another type of examination that is being given for applicants interested in two category positions. The Junior Geologist, Group A and Assistant Geologist, Group B for Geological Survey of India is the first category positions. The second category is waiting at the Central Ground Water Board with two positions namely: Jr. Hydrogeologist Group and Asst. Hydrogeologist Group B.
Other UPSC Examinations include Special Class Railway Apprentice Examination, National Defense Academy Examination, Combined Defense Services Examination and Combined Medical Services Examination. Applicants may take any of these examinations depending to the type of job and position he wants. It is also necessary to acquire other criteria that are being required to get the job, as the passing result of any of these examinations is just one of the requirements needed to land a job in India.
