Nationality: The candidate/s should be an Indian national as described in the Constitution of India.

Age Qualifications: All candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years of age; but in some cases the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi accepts applications for people up to 28 years of age for OBC, people up to 30 years of age for SC/ST and other suitable candidates, people up to 35 years of age for those departmental general candidates, and people up to 40 yeas of age for those departmental SC/ST applicants. In addition, if you are an Ex-Serviceman, your age qualification is dependent on the instructions that will be issued by the Indian government during your time of application.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates for both job categories should have finished higher secondary, senior secondary or any educational attainment that is equivalent to the stated level.

Technical Qualifications:

For the sub-inspector position, you are required by Office of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi to be able to write shorthand a minimum of 80 words per minute, and via typing 40 words per minute if the text is in English and 30 words per minute if the text is in Hindi.

For the head constable position, you are required to have a typing ability of 30 words per minute for texts written in English and 25 words per minute for texts written in Hindi.

Physical Standards;

For male applicants, height requirement is 165 cm and chest circumference should be 78-82 cm.
For female applicants, minimum height requirement is 157cm.

Both gender are also required to elicit a 6/12 vision for both eyes and should not have been diagnosed of any eye condition especially color blindness. Every candidate for the position should be in their optimum state of well-being.
