Delhi Police Constable

If you are looking to apply for a job as a Delhi police constable there are specific requirements that you have to meet before you get shortlisted. The qualifications include the following:

Nationality: All candidates should be an Indian citizen.

Age: Candidates should not be younger than 18 years old and should not be older than 21 years old. But in some cases, the age qualification is relaxabale which include: SC/ST candidates as well as sportsmen who represented the country in specific classes or levels; the type of sports include archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cricket, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, kho-kho, netball, power lifting, rowing, shooring, swimming, table tennis, triathlon, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting, and wrestling can be relaxable for up to 26 years of age. OBC can be relaxable up to 24 years of age. Ex-servicemen can also be relaxable as per Indian constitution policies during the date of application and as long as they are deemed to still be physically fit and able to serve the as a Delhi police constable.

Educational Attainment: Candidates applying for the position should have reached senior secondary level in education. For ex-servicemen they should present a board graduation certificate from recognized institutions. However, there are some instances when the education attainment is not strictly implemented which include the sons of individuals who are still serving the police, sons of deceased police officers, sons of a retired police, dispatch riders, buglers, and other people who were already involved in the institution.

Height: The minimum height requirement is 170 cm. But in some circumstances it can be relaxed for up to 5 cm which include the citizens of India who are residing at the hill areas, ST candidate, and the sons of personnel from the Delhi Police whether they are still serving, or are already retired or deceased.

Chest Circumference: The minimum chest circumference for applicants for the Delhi police constable position is 81-85 cm and the minimum chest expansion is 4 cm. Relaxation is also available in this qualification by up to 5 cm. The policy is the same as that stated in the height requirement.

Physical Fitness: All candidates for the Delhi police constable position should be free from any kind of ailment or disease and should have a 6/12 vision on both eyes. In this part of the qualifications, no relaxation has been approved.
